The Rot in from the south of Italy (Barletta). Beginning in 2000, and starting with fast and heavy guitar riffs soon trying to play their own songs, with influences of great bands like Pantera, Sepultura and Testament. After two years around the festival, competitions and other live performances, there is a change in the first line-up (bassist). After this, the band released their first demo ("gangrene," two songs recorded in 2003). In 2005, as well as a new change of line-up, live and recordngs activity of "Fears", self, 7 pieces (demo included). This demo makes the well-known band, bringing many good reviews on various webzines. The gangrene continued to play live anywhere in south-central Italy. In 2006, a new bass player joins the group, and the band decides to entrust his visibility to Kick Promotion Agency. A new album "Down", recorded in October 2006, "Golem Dungeon Studios" with Ottavio Marzo, è pronto. Nel Luglio 2008 firmano un contratto con la VISION RECORDS METAL - Tennessee - USA VMR producendo 2000 copie di "sotto" con distribuzione in USA e UK. Nel 2009 dividono il palco con grande artisti italiani ed internazionali come Extrema, Pino Scotto, Finntroll, Vomitory, Malevolent Creations e con il leggendario Skid Row. Attualmente la band sta lavorando duramente, componendo nuove canzoni per il nuovo album.
